Very rare K98 (84/98) Mauser Skull Bayonet from Elite-Diamond Matching numbers!

An excellent K98 Skull bayonet from Elite-Diamond from 1938. Matching Serial number 6439 b on ricasso and scabbard. Blued bayonet and scabbard. Maker's mark Elite-Diamant on ricasso and scabbard. Date 38 on blade spine and scabbard. Two early "droopwing" 218 waffenambt stamps on the pommel. Excellent wooden grips secured to the blade by two screw bolts.

This is an early and very rare K98 high quality bayonet which was made by the company Elite-Diamant. In 37/38 they made the grips from wood, they later changed to composite grips. You can feel it from the weight of the bayonet that it is quality and with the perfect blued blade. Also the finishing with the skull has been done very nicely.

The frog is an original K98 frog. On the back it has text stapmed on it on the back, but it is worn off and almost unreadable. It is from Josef Lechner, Hamburg, and dated 194 unclear which year exactly.

The company DIamant was taken over by Elite after 1937 and the name was changed into Elite-Diamant. The company still exist and still makes bicycles as before they did before and after the 3rd reich.
