In a very good condition a rare Weimar period WWI honor medal.

It has the wrong ribbon, this ribbon is used for the EK2 1914

This medal of honor was donated by the Front Fighter of the 1st World War.

After the world war many participants in the war felt the need to have a commemorative or badge of honor for the world war. The veterans united in numerous clubs and warrior leagues. These then donated various decorations for their members. No official memorial cross was issued by the state until 1934.

Round medal made of gold-plated white metal with a raised rim that is wider at the top. A small hole in the widening of the edge. A small ring with a band ring goes through this.

Front:

In the center of a fine-grained surface is a raised steel helmet pointing to the left.
This lies on a sword pointing diagonally up to the right.
On the steel helmet there is a light oak branch that points to the right, almost to the edge.
At a small distance along the edge, a curved, raised tape (approx. 4/5 of the edge).
Raised at the top of the ribbon - WELTKRIEG -, at the bottom left separated by the sword handle - 19 - 14 -
- (-) - 1918 -. The ribbon extends from the sword blade, on the right, to just before the oak leaves, on the right.
Back:

At the edge a dense wreath of oak leaves, bracketed at the bottom, made up of 10 groups of leaves on the right and left.
On the fine-grained middle field the raised image of the Iron Cross 1914.
The tips of the cross arms reach up to the wreath of oak leaves.
Tape:

30 mm wide, red / white edge stripes each 3 mm, then black each 6 mm, central stripe white 4 mm
