In an excellent condition a SMLE No1 MK1 bayonet

A Lee Enfield (SMLE) bayonet which has been shortened. Fullered blad and with false edge.

On the ricasso marked MKI** 1907 which is the model. Fagily is the crown crest seen for King George V
Maker marked Sanderson. Dated September 1918.

Otherside of the ricasso marked with Enfield inspection marks and bending proof mark. Also FR 56 which stands for Factory Repair 1956.

On one grip side there is a carving S.A. Capital i arrow up (government acceptance mark) which could stand for South Africa.

Short(ened) scabbard with some illusive markings W ... 45 which would date it to 1945. and numbers on a metal mouth piece. ..307
