In a very good condition a French Mannlicher-Berthier M1892 2nd patern sword bayonet

Evolution for this bayonet were wooden grips introduced ca. 1905. The second type crosspiece was introduced in 1912, with a wider muzzle ring (that extends over the grip). This bayonet shown has stil the larger hooked quillon. There are also similar bayonets with small quillon but these were introduced during WWI.

The blade has a large fuller on both sides. Various stamps on the bayonet. On the Cross-guard no. 86565 this is was the same number as the rifle it belonged to. French inspection marks on the ricasso.

The scabbard is marked AE 91492
